The Arizona Cardinals head to the East Coast to take on the Philadelphia Eagles in NFL action today. The Eagles are in a three-way tie for the best record in the NFC and will look to nab first place and that coveted first-round bye.
Meanwhile, the Cards have the second-worst record in the league and are likely in tanking for Caleb Williams mode.
NFL odds have the Eagles installed as 12-point home favorites with the Over/Under at 48.5 for this Week 17 clash.
Here are my best free NFL picks and predictions for the Cardinals vs. Eagles on Sunday, December 31.

Another NFL season brings in plenty of new sports bettors looking to get down action on their favorite teams for the first time. Those bettors will comb the NFL odds, cruise the injury reports, and dig into the analytics before making NFL picks, but they’ll often forget to look up.
Watching the weather is vital to getting the best of the bookmakers on Sundays, and you can be damn sure the “bad guys” know the forecast.
In order to level that playing field, I dissect the potential weather for every outdoor game on the board and highlight how the wind, rain, and more could impact the NFL Week 2 odds.
Here’s the NFL Week 2 weather report.

If everything went as well for Halesowen Town as planned, their time spent in the Southern League Division One Central would have been over in a flash. After years of struggling in the division above, last season they were finally relegated. The failure prompted a complete rehauling of the team, with an entirely new set of players and a new head coach brought in. It worked. By March they sat second, one point off the top with a game in hand, well on course for promotion.
On Thursday afternoon, all those hopes and expectations dissolved. After weeks of postponements because of the coronavirus pandemic, the Football Association finally announced in conjunction with the National League System that all leagues from steps three to six were cancel…
“In years gone by I think I might have struggled to get the information I wanted over to people because they probably wouldn’t have accepted me,” Luke Tuffs says. “They would have thought: ‘Why is a gay person telling me what to do on a football pitch?’ I genuinely think that would have been a thing 20, even 10 years ago. Now, certainly not.”
Tuffs is an openly gay man who is also a football manager. This is something still so uncommon in the British game that Tuffs, whose Leatherhead team are bottom of the Isthmian Premier League in England’s seventh tier, is the most prominent example. This is not a good situation and the challenges men face to be open about their sexuality in elite football remain stubbornly difficult to o…
Sam Kerr’s magnificent European season, capped back home by her striking late contribution to Australia’s World Cup push, has been rewarded with her being named runner-up behind Spain’s Aitana Bonmati in Uefa’s player of the year awards.
While Manchester City striker Erling Haaland was voted men’s player of the year and his team’s manager, Pep Guardiola, coach of the year by European football’s ruling body, Kerr finished second between two Spanish Women’s World Cup winners, Bonmati and third-placed Olga Carmona.
Thursday’s acknowledgement was a reward for another exceptional campaign for the Chelsea striker Kerr, whose goals helped the Blues lift the women’s FA Cup and Super League “double” i…
The NFL will release the full 2024 schedule on May 15 at 8 p.m. ET, according to media reports on Wednesday. Teams had been told informally that Thursday would be the release day but no reason was given for the delay in a league memo Wednesday afternoon, according to Sports Business Journal. Hans Schroeder, NFL executive vice president of media distribution, wrote in the memo that more details about the plan are expected in the coming days, Sports Business Journal reported. One explanation could be determining which games would be set for Dec. 25, which this year falls on a Wednesday. The league in late March changed its stance to allow playing Christmas Day games if the holiday was a Tuesday or Wednesday. The four teams involved would play in a doubleheader the preceding Saturday. An…
It almost feels too perfect. The scrawny, 7-foot, 195-pound sopping wet Chet Holmgren from Gonzaga playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder. It’s easy to imagine him sharing the court with Josh Giddey and Aleksej Pokusevski. Three caucasian dudes, all above 6-foot-8, and all with diverse skill sets and all skinnier than a bean pole. But what about on the court? Thunder exec Sam Presti is known for mixing it up when building out a roster. He’s gone full tilt since the breakup of the underachieving Kevin Durant/Russell Westbrook/James Harden/Serge Ibaka group. He’s become a madman in his experimentation with positionless basketball. All three members of the current Thunder core: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Lu Dort, and Giddey, can’t be pigeonholed into a specific position. Each can …
One of Shaquille O’Neal’s many commercials has him in some legal trouble. Don’t worry Icy Hot users, the petroleum jelly didn’t burn anyone in a sensitive area. For those who like to indulge in a Papa John’s Pizza, the pepperoncinis didn’t give guests at a kid’s birthday gathering stomach aches for party favors. For the thrill-seekers who put their money into the cryptocurrency service that O’Neal and Stephen Curry advertised, you all might end up getting some money back. Shaq is part of a bigger lawsuit Cryptocurrency company FTX filed for bankruptcy in late 2022. Shortly after, the company’s CEO was arrested. Samuel Bankman-Fried has pleaded not guilty to 13 counts of securities fraud, money laundering, and campaign finance violations. Some of the spokespeople for FT…
The NFL is in Boca Raton this week for its annual meetings, and that means it’s time for the head coaches to get together for their group photo. ( Click here for full resolution.) I don’t recognize a lot of these guys! But that’s always how it is with new coaches: you can’t truly get to know their faces until you see them sulk after blowing a challenge. So what’ve we got! Well, there’s Rex Ryan, being the only one to rock his team’s gear. There’s Bruce Arians in his Kangol hat—it’s like the story girl with the yellow ribbon, if you take it off his brains will fall out. There’s Jeff Fisher, leaning into John Fox and looking like a man eager to become your stepdad. If you’ve counted, you’ll note there are four coaches missing. We specifically asked the NFL about …
MLB's owners unanimously approved the sale of the Houston Astros from Drayton McLane to Jim Crane today, and included a $65 million price cut in the deal. The Astros will leave the NL Central and join the AL West for the 2013 season, and, to the relief of symmetricists everywhere, each league will have 15 teams. In the deal, McLane agreed to cut the price from $680 million to $615 million. The AP reports that MLB will cover part of his losses by paying him $35 million over three years (last season's 106 losses are not recoverable). The move is, at least in theory, exciting for the American League's mediocre teams that might benefit from playing the Astros more frequently. From the Los Angeles : The realignment will create three five-team divisions in each league and a m…
